Risk Management

Effective Risk Management is fundamental to the FP&M SETA’s commitment to good governance, accountability and continued service excellence.

Therefore a robust & proactive approach is implemented to identify, mitigate and assess risks that could adversely affect the achievement of strategic objectives and our skills development mandate.

The Risk management approach is integrated across all levels of the organisation and is under pinned by Internal Control Management, Compliance Management and Monitoring & Evaluation.

Monitoring and Evaluation

The FP&MSETA through its New Business Model has under the Governance, Risks, Legal and Compliance (GRCL) Division- established the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Department. The Departments purpose is to monitor and evaluate the FP&MSETA’s performance as envisaged in the National Skills Development Strategy, Sector Skills Pan, Strategic Plan, Annual Performance Plan and other Programmes and Projects undertaken by the FP&MSETA.

The M&E function plays a strategic role in strengthening the risk management process by objectively assessing discretionary grant project implementation ,identifying project implementation risks & incidents and monitoring the execution of strategy throughout the organisation.

This finds expression through:

  • Project visits
  • Due diligence reviews
  • Internal control management
  • Ad hoc investigations
